The lid will not lock and stay on during churning

Here is a link to the manual if you need it; It sounds like somehow the little locking lugs on either the lid or the bit it locks to have broken off. if it is the lid, then you should be able to get a new one from cuisinart - check the manual for details, otherwise you probably have to either try and rebuild them by carving another piece of plastic the same and glueing it on. a new body piece may be available, check with cuisinart, but my guess is that you are stuck with tape - or my idea would be a large rubber/elastic band, so you can re-use it. Hope this helps :)

I bought a used taylor ice cream machine. It is model number 8756-27 and it was manufactured in 1987. It is a water cooled machine ... Do you know how much water it uses daily?

You use ICE, not water and then rock salt is added over the ice to lower the temperature for making the ice cream. The salt hastens the melting of the ice and thus lowers the temperature.

Hi, I hav bought an ICE-50BC ice cream maker. It is now 3 weeks old & has been used 3 times. When the ice cream begins to freeze the stirrer arm always lifts off the machine & stops working. when I push it back on it restarts but within a few seconds it again lifts off & stops again. It seems that the clips that hold the stirrer onto the machine body are grossly inadequate. What can be done about this. Emails to Cuisinart have gone unanswered. Thanks, Peter.

See the BOLD section below..You need a good simple recipe. So here is one.(This is an unpasteurized recipe unless you boil the blended strawberries, wash the berries very well if you don't)1 lb fresh strawberries (ripe is better)3/4 cup sugar (most folks double this but i prefer the taste of strawberry)3/4 cup whipping creme2 1/4 cups milk (2%)1 tsp lemon juiceLiquefy the strawberries in your blender. (Boil now if pasteurizing) and add the rest of the ingredients and blend. You now have enough Ice cream mix for two partial batches. Divide mix in two equal portions. You should have enough to fill machines bucket 1/2 - 2/3 full. IMPORTANTDo NOT have more or less in the bucket as the machine screws up with more or less of any mix.Insert Paddle and put noisy grey power arm on top. Add a 2 inch thick hardcover novel on top of arm above bucket.Add a heavy Soup can on top of this book (I recommend Habitant French Canadian Pea Soup 28 fl oz size).Set timer to 40 minutes. Leave room as it is a noisy little beast machine.Come back and check just before it is done. If still too liquid add 5 minutes to timer.Empty into bowl and add 2nd half of mix to bucket.Clean the dimple on bottom of mixer paddle before putting back in bucket. This batch should take 5 minutes less as compressor is already cold. Have fun.The book and Soup can are essential to keep the silly beasts power arm from lifting up too early.

I have an ice cream maker ice 45u but the mixer blade is not turning. The power is there because i can hear it and when i pull the leaver down the cogs turn on the sprinkler system are turning i have checked that the lid is on properly and that the mixing blade is fitted correctly ect. If i need to strip the ice cream maker down Could you please explain how to do it. many thanks Dave.

There is a coupler under the blade is everything is not seated and or if it is worn a bit it may not be driving the blade. What you need to do is put everything in place and then turn the unit on without anything in it. All you want to do is see if the blade turns. Turn it on then open up and see if the blade has moved. If it hasn't then the coupler is not working ie it is worn too badly if everything else is seated properly. If it has moved you may have a weak motor and it locks up under the load of mixing the cream mixture. About the only thing you can really fix is getting it seated properly. Anything else will entail taking it into a repair depot to get it repaired or replaced. Check if you have any warrenty, find out who does repairs, and find out what a new one costs. The store you purchased this at will know who or where the repair depot is. Or you can contact Cuisinart and they can help you find out who or where. Sometimes they offer a flat repair fee for out of warranty units. If you have no warranty you have to be careful as a new one may be quite a bit cheaper. I had a bad seal and could have bought almost two new ones for what they wanted if I sent it in. Just ask first before committing doing anything and you will get the best way to get ice cream again ;-]

Put the ice cream bowl in the dishwasher

The only way to tell is by putting it in the freezer for 24 hours, and then trying to make a batch of ice cream. If it doesn't freeze or make the ice cream properly, then you will need to get a replacement bowl from Cuisinart - they are available. -Tha Mp3 Doctor
