Guide :Ice Cream Makers : 8550-X 5 Quart Ice Cream Maker

The gear in my ice cream maker needs to be replaced, where can I get the part I need? The part is for a sterling 5 quart ice cream maker, catalog no. 165A. I tried my Rival ice cream top on the sterling and it fit so I think a Rival part would work.

Need replacement can for Sterling Catalog No. 165A (Is Rival 8550x Equivalent?)

Richmond Cedarworks has folded. Rival/White Mountain do not have parts for the replacement of your canisters. Richmond has went under for bankrupcy or were bought out by some private sector. The parts offered by Rival/White Mountain are different sized for all of the Richmond products. As there are no parts available, anyone looking for parts should be directed to either commercial supply stores or stores that repair/rebuild old kitchen equipment.

I need a replacement can for my RCW plastic frame hand operated ice cream freezer. I think it's a 4 qt. I actually have the parts list that came with it--back in 1976. (Bought it with Top Value trading stamps) Can you tell me where I might find a suitable replacement can?

Hi.Richmond Cedar Works who built your ice maker has closed a long time ago. The business was acquired by Rival that does not distribute spares or support RCW.The only hope to find spares for this appliance is by checking regularly on Ebay for second hand spares. Here a search showing the RCW parts and appliances, please click here and have a look. Regards.Ginko

I need a new lid for my Richmond Cedar Work Manufacturing, Sterling Freezer 5 Quart ice cream maker. I understand that Rival bought them out and the motorised 8550-X unit looks like it might have the same lid. The lid turns the cannister and the paddle stays stationary. Do you know where I can purchase a new lid for this ice cream maker? Thanks - Stevo

Yes, the Rival 8550 and RCW 5-qt lids are the same. They're sometimes available here: http://stores.ebay.com/Lauras-Last-Ditch/_i.html?_nkw=rival+ice+cream&submit=Search&_sid=93311479

Magic chef MCIM30TS table top ice maker shovel breaks

I took 4 small nails, cut them to the proper length, heated them up with a lighter, and pushed them into the plastic creating 4 metal posts that the motor could push against. Just did it and it is working. Not sure for how long.

I need a replacement can for the 8550x Rival 5 qt ice cream maker. Rival still makes and sells these, but I guess they don't take into consideration what prolonged moisture does to aluminum...mine was resurrected out of basement after 20 or so years, that probably doesn't help my current rust issue either. Please Help! Otherwise, I will sell the parts, everything works!!!

Replacement parts are sometimes available here, and I think the 5-qt can is interchangeable with the Rival, which is made of aluminum: http://stores.ebay.com/Lauras-Last-Ditch/_i.html?_nkw=rival+ice+cream&submit=Search&_sid=93311479
